Brief Posting Description

- Plan and publish books according to an agreed schedule and to agreed budgets
- The job involves working from London and Doha offices as well as extensive travel to other countries as agreed with the Managing Director.
- Knowledge of the Arab and international publishing industries, as well as suppliers of all key services, is essential.
- This is a senior level role with extensive decision-making, budgetary and programme delivery responsibilities. The person will be a member of BQF's senior management team working closely with the Managing Director and Bloomsbury.
- Identifying human resource needs
- Identifying cost effectives inputs for each planned title and ensuring implementation of publishing according to agreed budgets

Detailed Description

Create a successful publishing plan and manage the publishing process through the following:

1. Contribute to setting the publishing strategy
2. Create a publishing plan to carry out the publishing strategy
3. Negotiate and acquire original and licensed content so that each publication achieves the financial and publishing objectives
4. Establish a rights department so that rights can be acquired efficiently
5. Manage and support the editorial team so that all members are able to carry out their work effectively
6. Monitor and manage editorial schedules for all agreed titles
7. Manage and support BQFP design, production and marketing teams (incl. website) so that all departments are fully aware of each other's work
8. Liaise with Bloomsbury UK editorial, production and marketing teams and ensure that all BQFP editors, designers and marketing staff maximize available support from BUK
9. Knowledge transfer to local Qatari employees
10. Seek, negotiate and implement client publishing projects
11. Deliver results as per business plan and budget
12. Manage in-house editors in the London and Doha offices, as well as freelance editorial support.
13. Manage the in-house design department in the Doha office as well as supervising in-house design and editorial sourcing of freelance design services.
14. Liaise closely with Bloomsbury UK production department and supervise the Managing Editor to help maintain BQFP publishing schedules in collaboration with Bloomsbury UK production department.
15. Liaise with Bloomsbury UK editorial and marketing for timely coordination of opportunities for improving publishing and marketing prospects of all BQFP titles.
16. Liaise with other Bloomsbury companies worldwide regarding potential publishing and marketing collaborations.
17. Identifying titles for potential profit
18. Manage editorial and design teams across Doha and London offices and freelancers
19. Develop and implement new client publishing opportunities

Job Purpose:

The coordinator will follow-up on educational and Higher Education projects within Education City and provide coordination and support to the Associate Vice President for Higher Education. • Creating, writing and coordinating professional accurate timely reports either pre or post workshops or meetings
• Providing detailed or abridged project reports as requested by the Associate Vice President
• Assist and advise external consultants in the implementation of the project
• Identifying, developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships
• Facilitating at meetings and workshops as appropriate
• Developing project linkages to other activities and groups related to the project and the Foundation
• Conducting and evaluating research and synthesizing information regarding best practices in the relevant project task areas and disseminates the information among the committee and the senior Foundation management
• Developing specifications for one or more requests-for-proposals related to the assigned project and implements review process
• Ensuring consistent and accurate administration of projects
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Associate VP.

Scope and General Purpose
Install, configure, troubleshoot and perform testing activities on Copper, Cat5, Cat6 and Fiber Optic cables as well as other network equipment.

Main Duties:
• Conduct job site surveys.
• Carry out day to day process within the communications infrastructure to include the pulling, troubleshooting and repairing of inside and outside plant wiring.
• Read blue prints and/or job specifications to determine cable pathways and establish cabling pulling schedule.
• Terminate copper/or fiber cable with appropriate hardware per manufacturer and industry standards.
• Build network racks and cabinets and equip with panels, cable management, network switches, routers and other ancillary equipment as required.
• Label all terminated cables with end- point designations as determined by the customer or project manager.
• Test terminated cables to confirm adherence to industry standards.
• Report any project scope changes, issues, or concerns to assigned contacts.
• May require installation and/or patching of customer end-point equipment such as access point, PC, printer or other.
• Ensure that all workmanship is in compliance with industry, customer infrastructure quality and safety requirements.
• Understand, adheres to & promote Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Superiors.
