OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
The primary function of the position is to generate business through new prospects and to ensure client retention. The Portfolio Development Manager is responsible for increasing awareness about the Organization and its services, meeting or exceeding assigned sales quotas, and providing outstanding customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing
• Understand and be able to articulate the organization current and future product and service offerings.
• Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of the organization and its products and services, reaching out to audiences in the public, private and academic sectors.
• Produce an annual marketing plan with quantifiable goals.
• Submit a quarterly marketing summary to the organization top management, outlining the previous month's accomplishments and comparing them to the annual marketing plan. Summarizing the current quarter's expected accomplishments, and identifying areas needing upper management direction.
• Work closely with the organization program staff to ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of marketing efforts and to ensure needed follow-up.
• Establish and maintain a database of marketing contacts Provide recommendations to the organization top management regarding areas for new program development
• Represent the organization, as needed, at conferences and exhibitions
Sales
• Develop and implement sales strategy for the organization products and services, with particular emphasis on the
• Produce an annual sales plan with quantifiable goals.
• Include cold calls to new prospects as a daily component of all sales strategies.
• Communicate all prospect and client activity to the organization top management.
• Communicate product or service issues, as related by prospective and existing clients, the organization top management.
• Abide by all organizational pricing policies.
• Submit a monthly sales summary to the organization top management, outlining the previous month's business accomplishments and comparing them to the annual sales plan, summarizing the current month's expected accomplishments, and identifying areas needing upper management direction.
• Maintain regular contact with existing clients to provide ongoing customer service and ensure client retention.
