With one of the largest balance sheets in the Middle East this financial conglomerate is undergoing a very well considered strategic expansion into new lines of business beyond their core. The expansion takes them into new levels of balance sheet complexity and will be operating on a large scale with Western counterparties so, as a responsible global partner, the firm is looking to modernise its' risk and governance standards to modern international best practice.

The firm operates across various business lines including investment banking advisory, structured finance, private equity, asset management and real estate and deploys its' own large balance sheet on behalf of its shareholders in various ground breaking and innovative deals.

We are looking for an experienced and broad based risk professional who will have worked at group level, or advised from practice at group level, for major international financial services institutions.

The role will be reporting to directly the CFO of the firm, and the progress of the risk management and governance environment will be closely monitored by the board. As Financial Risk Manager you will be responsible for developing group operational risk management systems and working with internal counterparties to develop a strong internal governance environment. You will also monitor market and credit risk at a group level and would ideally be familiar with modern risk aggregation practices and economic capital management strategies.

We are not looking for internal auditors, or even credit or market risk experts, but individuals with a strong operational risk background who have worked at Group level (or regional if a very significant firm) of major multinational financial services firms or accountancy practice or risk consultancy.
