DUTIES:
• Preparing cost estimates against customers enquiries.
• Discussing estimates/tenders with internal and external customers.
• Preparing tender documents.
• Preparing invoices for work completed.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
• Time served in shipyard or ship repair yard.
• Can read ship building drawings.
• Knows how to estimate: 1) Man hours, 2) Materials, 3) Subcontract services.
• Knows how to use Tarrif/unit rates.
• Understands build up of labor rate and profit.
• Able to write and build up work scope.
• Able to estimate access work.
• Can write a tender.
• Can read an owners technical specification.
• Can discuss estimate with owners representative
• Understands owners terms and conditions
• Can write an enquiry for material or equipment supply
• Can evaluate suppliers or subcontractors quotation
• Able to inspect job to be carried out on ship and discuss with shipyard production
• Understands timescales to complete work
• Has experience to guesstimate work scope when little details available
• Understands shipyard practices and methodologies.
